With Buddha, you are either suffering or in pleasure. I think that there is a middle ground. There are many times when people are not suffering and also not feeling pleasure. The origin of suffering, according to Buddha, is craving. Craving comes from anything that is agreeable and pleasurable. Sights, sounds, mental pictures, etc. are all agreeable and pleasurable therefore they all cause craving. Whenever we think of any of this, cravings arise. This is where suffering comes from. ... League gave them a form of political power against the rest of Europe also. Until , Catholicism was a uniting force in Europe. Since all people there, other than Jews, were members of the Church, there was a sense of solidarity, which would never exist again in Europe after the Reformation. This helped to change the alliances of powers within Europe, with Protestants standing against Catholics. Ultimately, these divisions led to a series of religious wars. For the ...

The 1st amendment's actual wording is “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” (Barton, America: To… p.15) But, because of the Supreme Court's continuous citing of a “ wall of separation” and “separation of church and state”, the public's idea of the 1st amendment's religion clause has been shaped by phrases which do not appear anywhere in the Constitution. The First Congress, which passed this Amendment in 1789, intended to prohibit the establishment of ...

After enlightenment, people called him the Buddha, which means, “enlightened one.” Various Buddhist schools have developed after the founding of . The two most common schools are the Mahayana and the Theravada. They have much in common. But also they differ in very important ways. Theravada sees Buddha as a historical figure. This means instead of seeing Buddha as a divine figure, they see him as a great man who taught the world many th ...

He called those ideas the four noble truths. The first truth was that suffering was universal. The second was that suffering is caused by desire. The third is that the only way to stop suffering is to crush desire. The fourth is that the only way to end desire was to follow the noble Eightfold path. Hindusworship thousnads of gods.
