... someone looks doesn't mean that they are carrying a gun. What criteria should be used to determine if someone looks like when they are carrying a gun? Do they put on baggy pants with a do-rag before they put the gun in their pants or pocket? As of right now, there is not one, and never will be one. I know many people that carry guns that probably would be stopped because of the way they look. They look like your everyday, average American teenager. I doubt very seriously that a police officer, even with rigorous training, could pick someone out of a crowd that was carrying a gun. If police forces employed this tactic, how would they stop the constant harassment to one person? If po ...
... the underdog's accusations may be twisted undermine the real issue. The power to distort is often give the assistance of higher authority, the government perhaps, and often lead to victory, therefore losing rights that they have originally been given. Recent problems have occurred involving the Cincinnati Reds owner, Marge Schott. By exercising her freedom of speech and her opinion, she was forced to lose her property, being her Major League Baseball team the Cincinnati Reds. She stated that what Adolph Hitler did in World War II to the Jewish people was right. To most people, this statement has many arguments that are very different from her opinion. Given the fact that out of a ...
... from bombings rose to $7.5 million, with 308 people injured and 31 killed. This does not take into account the tragic Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. Some ATF experts believe that it is the ready availability of materials and easy access to instructions and explosives information on the internet that has been the reason for this increase of bombings. There are several theories in the class text that help to explain the justification behind the actions of these local terrorist in our country. H. H. A. Cooper (1977) describes one called the “doctrine of necessity.” He believes that these terrorist cannot accept the world as it is and they also reject the possibility of peaceful means for s ...
... an interesting way that the reader can personalize himself with the article. The constant use of “I” in the article lets the reader know that the author has had first hand experience with the drug issue. The first person point of view also reinforces the fact that this article is completely based on the ideas and beliefs of Hamill. In addition, playing a key role in this article, the audience remains convinced via the effective techniques in writing. In general, this article reaches out to everyone in the United States, and possibly the rest of the world. However, this article targets powerful individuals, and those in the government who can make an impact on the drug world. This illust ...
... strife, division, intrigue, and paranoia had become so ingrained that eventually most members drifted or were driven, away. Some continued the struggle on other fronts and some basically cooled out altogether. The BPP limped on for several more years, then died what seemed a natural death. History will be the ultimate judge of the BPP's place in the Black Liberation Movement (BLM). But in these troubled times African people in the U.S. need to investigate both the positive and negative aspects of the BPP's history in order to learn from those hard lessons already paid for in blood. In particular we need to learn the reasons for the BPP's rapid rise to prominence, the reason for its abil ...
... it does not follow that acorns are oak trees, or that we had better say they are" (356). There is no scientific consensus as to when human life begins. It is much more a matter of philosophic opinion or religious belief. Human life is a continuum; sperm and eggs are also alive, and represent potential human beings, but virtually all sperm and eggs are wasted. In addition, two-thirds of human conceptions are spontaneously aborted by nature. Another extremely disputable Pro-Life argument is that a fetus should have rights under the law. If fetal rights were enshrined in law, women's bodies, rights, and health would be subordinated to the protection of embryos. The legal consequences of suc ...
... causing the revolution to work successfully. This relates with the communism system of proletarian ideology and a new social system. It is different than any other ideological and social system, and exemplifies many characteristics. It is a progressive, completed revolution that stands as a rational system in human history. Tse-tung agreed that China is carrying out a revolution in the social system, as well as in technology. More public ownership is currently beginning to replace the traditional Chinese private ownerships. Also, large-scale modern machine productions, rather than manmade handicrafts are making many industrialized products. Because so many old Chinese traditions ...
... cultural backgrounds and probably ten different main sects of religion. But it’s unfortunate that people even today are judged by the of their skin and not the content of their character as Martin Luther King Jr. has said. Even though this is true I feel that it is equally bad that we as a nation group people together stereotyping one person in a group as all the people in a group. So in order to reach new heights as a nation we must come together to show that isn’t everything, and in fact isn’t anything at all. is also defined as: a false appearance; pretext; disguise. I truly think that this is the best definition of the word . Not black or white, green, or even yellow with purple ...

Similarly, a student might want to wear green colored clothing to show his or her support for St. Patrick's day. would end both of those examples listed within this paragraph and many, many more. The last issue that needs to be addressed is the unnecessary burden that will be placed upon those families of limited resources. Many low-income families do not have the money available to furnish uniforms to their children. They can barely make ends meet with the help of charities and social programs. In Polk County, Florida, the school board is trying to pass legislation that a child cannot attend school unless they have on the proper uniform. An education is su ...
... Are we always told the truth by the mass media? By the government? By the media speaking for or as directed by the government? Or has the line between truth and lies been so badly blurred in politics that we will never know what truly goes on in our political system? The two movies examined, both play in some way on the function of the mass media in American politics. We can see how much and how heavily we rely on our televisions, radio shows, newspapers and now the Internet to communicate to us the latest breaking news, political campaigns, slandering, commercials for politicians running for office, debates, presidential addresses, cover-ups, conspiracies and information that c ...
